As Big Tech recklessly pursues a goal of Artificial General Intelligence (capability on par with, and as an alternative to, human intelligence), their tech-bro leaders are simultaneously spouting dire warnings about the very technology that is eating capital and spewing greenhouse gases at an unsustainable rate. All this without any of them being able to paint a future vision of the technology that is actually good for humanity. Small wonder they are buying up private islands and fortifying compounds in faraway New Zealand to shield themselves from the world they are creating for the rest of us.
